HOW IT GOT STARTED... Join our facebook community!
I began with a nutrition regimen of iced honeybuns, Mr. Pibb (usually 2 - 3 cans
a day), pizza, ice cream, and chips galore. My exercise program was well
respected in the industry. It was 4 steps to the Playstation, and 4 steps back
to the couch. Flexibility exercises included reaching for the remote and some
more chips. I was very committed to this regimen. But one day, I was playing
football on my playstation, and I threw an interception. Being upset, I threw
the controller, and when I went to pick it up, I looked down and my feet were
nowhere in site. I saw my belly and asked, “Where did this thing come from?” I
was closing in at almost 300 lbs. Let me make this story short. I jumped on a
fitness kick, learned more than I could ever imagine, and dropped 75 lbs in 6
months doing it the right way... nutrition, proper diet, and exercise. Once I
got certified as a personal trainer, I dropped another 30 lbs bringing the
total to over 100lbs. I have kept the weight
off since 2003, and yes, I treat
myself to ice cream and pizza... just not like I used to. What does all
of this have
to do with you? I have been in your shoes if you are battling weight
issues.
It can be so frustrating! Even if you do not use a trainer, I urge you
to
really make a change RIGHT NOW. Don't let anything get in the way. The
feeling you get when you win the weight battle can’t be explained in
words
alone. It’s a huge accomplishment! It will literally change your life!
Don't procrastinate. Talk to
your physician and get started, and no, don't wait until Monday. What
is up with the Monday starts?? What is your goal? I set a goal of
losing
50 lbs. by vacation time. I beat that by 25 lbs. Whenever I got
discouraged, I
kept looking at that goal I wrote down on paper. Don’t ever give up!
Write down the reason you’re going to change,
write down a target date, and go after it relentlessly, with nothing
getting in the way.
